MacGregor just dropped (probably) the cheapest mini driver on the market

Mini drivers remain all the rage among players wanting to revamp their game off the tee, but they represent a pretty expensive investment for the average joe.

MacGregor, who have been making renewed waves in the market with some recent releases of well-priced, good-looking equipment, have set out to change that, today unveiling a mini driver that offers all the accuracy and forgiveness of the big brands, for just £199.99.

"The mini driver has become one of the most talked-about clubs in golf because it's solving a problem that millions of golfers face," says Gavin Wallin, Club Designer at MacGregor Golf. 

"Most players don't lose shots because they can't hit the ball farther—they lose them because they miss too many fairways. A mini driver gives golfers the confidence to make a committed swing while offering a level of control that's difficult to achieve with a modern 460cc driver.

There's plenty of premium tech in the Mac Mini. It has a full titanium head, along with an adjustable hosel to help players dial in their ball flight. MacGregor have engineered the CG of the club to sit deep towards the bottom and rear of the club, ensuring it delivers a mid-spin, mid-launch flight that offers a great mixture of distance and control.

It also comes as standard with a choice of premium Project X HZRDUS shafts.

At 310cc, it's slightly on the smaller side for a mini driver, MacGregor saying they chose that size to deliver more versatility for accomplished players who want to put it in play off the fairways. As with all mini drivers, it also has a shorter shaft to help players find control and repeatability in the swing.
