Golf is a sport uniquely populated by the older and lesser mobile, but while countless advancements have been made to help these players get around the course as easily as possible, shoes have always lagged a little behind in this category.

Step forward (pun not intended) Utah-based brand Kizik, a world-leader in hands-free athletic shoes, who this week have announced the Athens Golf: a world first hands-free golf shoe that you can step into for a comfortable, locked-in feel every time.

The Athens Golf's HandsFree Labs® technology works a little bit like the Skechers' Slip-On shoes, allowing you to simply step in to the shoes rather than bending over or sitting down to get them on. However the Kiziks have a more foot-hugging feel upon step, negating the need for players with reduced dexterity to worry about tying their laces.

Drawing on the technology that has made the brand's debut performance running shoe, the Freedom Run, a success among less mobile runners, the Athens Golf introduces a raft of course-ready technologies designed exclusively for easy play around the links.

The model has a softer foam midsole for comfort on long walking rounds, and a firmer lugged spikeless outsole for grip. The water-resistant upper is also practical on rainy days and dewy mornings.

You can grab a pair for yourself now at Kizik's website.
