Vessel launches new Player VI golf bag series with redesigned organisation system
The Player VI Series brings smarter storage and a redesigned club organisation system.
Vessel has launched the sixth generation of its flagship Player Series, with the new Player VI and Player VI Pro golf bags introducing a number of practical changes aimed at making life on the course a little easier.
The new range arrives on September 23 and builds on the premium construction and walking-focused design that has become synonymous with the Player Series, while placing particular emphasis on club organisation and accessibility.
The biggest change comes at the top of the bag. Both models feature a redesigned offset top, with full-length channels designed to give individual clubs more separation and make them easier to remove and replace.
The putter well has also been enlarged, while a redesigned anti-jam base is intended to reduce clubs catching against one another when taking them in and out of the bag.
For golfers who like to keep a rangefinder close at hand, Vessel has also introduced its new Axis-Lock Rangefinder Pocket. The magnetic pocket is designed to secure the device while allowing it to be accessed with a single motion.
The Player VI Pro takes the organisation concept a step further. It features a larger 7-way or 14-way offset top, depending on the configuration, as well as an exclusive Magnetic Ball Pocket that replaces a conventional zip. Additional storage also makes the Pro the more comprehensive of the two options.
Both bags retain several of the features found across Vessel's existing Player range, including the patented Rotator Stand System, Equilibrium 2.0 Double Strap, carbon-fibre legs and cart-compatible design.
Construction remains a major part of the appeal, with the Player VI Series combining Tour-grade synthetic leather with lightweight DXR (Diamond X-PAC Ripstop). Genuine leather touchpoints, antimicrobial velour-lined pockets and water-resistant zips add to the premium finish.
Vessel founder and CEO Ronnie Shaw said the development process involved reassessing the details of the existing Player design rather than simply adding new features.
“We really challenged ourselves to look at every detail and ask how we could make it better,” Shaw said.
The Player VI is positioned as the more streamlined option, while the Player VI Pro is aimed at golfers who want maximum organisation and storage.
With the new range, Vessel appears to have focused less on reinventing the stand bag and more on refining the areas golfers interact with throughout a round — particularly club access, storage and carrying.
The Player VI Series is available from September 23 through the Vessel website.
