Cleveland Golf is arguably the master when it comes to the short game, and its impressive new CBX2 wedges have so far not disappointed us following a month of testing now with the new 52 and 60-degree models.

The CBX2 wedges are ideal for any ability, but particularly game improvers who are looking to get their ball closer to the pin from inside of 100 yards or from anywhere around the green.

We love everything about this wedge from its lighter hosel and tapered flange to its wider toe and new Hollow-Cavity design that moves the centre of gravity right where you need it for even greater forgiveness.

And then you've got Cleveland Golf coming into its own with its extra sharp Tour Zip Grooves that effortlessly cut through the grass and debris to give you plenty of spin on your wedge shots - just make sure those grooves are always clean!

On top of that, Rotex Milling adds friction between the grooves and Laser Milling increases the roughness right up to the legal limit for unreal stopping power.

Distance control on full shots with the 52-degree model was incredible. From within 120 yards, we struck 20 shots and they all landed within five yards of each other.

It also excelled when it came to offline dispersion, too. You have forgiveness in bundles here, allowing you to take dead aim at the pin.

The 60-degree model has also been working wonders for our short game. We've been using this one on flop shots and also out of the greenside bunkers, and it has not let us down.

You can also choose the type of sole grind you wish when it comes to these wedges, which is a nice touch. You can opt for V-shaped in the 46 to 52-degree models, S-shaped in 54 to 56-degree and C-shaped in the 58 to 60-degree.

VERDICT

A superb premium wedge for game improvers at a reasonable price point, too.

If you seek spin, control and forgiveness, then this one is for you.

We recommend these wedges for anyone who wants to improve their short game fast, and needs an extra bit of help with their ball striking when it comes to chips and pitches as you will hit the sweetspot just about every time.

You'll also receive a soft, buttery feel on your wedge shots thanks to the clever Cleveland Golf technology packed into the CBX2 wedge.

One of the best new wedges on the market and one we thoroughly recommend testing out ahead of the 2020 season.
