Ladies European Tour golfer Ellie Givens landed her first professional win and became the first female winner on the 2020protour when sharing top spot with Tour pro Andrew Wilson at the Rocket Yard Classic at Rockliffe Hall.

Givens and Wilson carded rounds of 4-under 68 at their home club to seal a narrow one-stroke victory over Adam Chapman in the mixed gender tournament.

"Yesterday was a good day," tweeted Givens after her victory.

"Pleased with my round and happy to be the first female winner on the 2020protour.

"First time playing an event on my home course and I'm glad that Andrew Wilson and I both represented Rockliffe Hall well."

The tournament also saw two other women finish in the top 10 with Gemma Clews and Jess Baker (amateur) finishing in a tie for sixth on 1-under par.

Baker and Callum Farr both shared leading amateur honours on 1-under par.

The 2020protour is a gender equal professional golf tour with an equitable policy, and it carries the strapline of "putting the players first".
