Harry Hall makes an on-trend equipment switch on the eve of The Masters
The Englishman joins a growing list of golfers switching ball models in the hunt for more dialled-in performance around the greens.

They say your golf ball is the only piece of equipment you use during every shot on the course, so it stands to reason that when players find a ball that matches their game, it takes a lot to convince them to change.
More recent times, however, have seen pros take a closer look at their choice of ball in the ever-lasting hunt to eke out those last few modicums of performance in their game.
Harry Hall is no exception, and with the first major of the year dawning, the flat-capped Englishman has decided it's time to make a change.
Hall, a Bridgestone ambassador, was a longtime devotee of the brand's Tour B X ball. However the brand has announced that the 28-year-old has switched out of the model and into the softer, spinnier Tour B XS going forward.
"I've had great success with the Tour B X, but heading into the first major I needed more spin to hold greens in firm conditions. With the Tour B XS, I immediately saw more spin and better green side control.
It's a move that could pay dividends as the Masters field faces down one of the fastest, firmest Augusta layouts in recent memory. "I'm looking forward to putting it in play on golf's most iconic stage," continued Hall.
"The TOUR B XS lets Harry swing naturally and confidently while gaining the spin and control he needs," says Bridgestone's Adam Rehberg, "making it an ideal fit for the conditions he will face. This perfectly illustrates how Ball Fitting helps golfers at every level get more out of each swing."

Hall isn't the only player to tweak his ball set-up of late. Rory McIlroy started the 2026 season by switching out of the TaylorMade TP5x into the standard TP5 model – also a model that's softer, lower-launching and spinnier than its sibling.
Plenty of Titleist players, likewise, have tinkered with their choice of ball in recent months, with Cameron Young, Bryson DeChambeau adopting a special prototype variant of the Pro V1x.
You can watch Hall in action when he tees off on Day 1 of The Masters at 16:44 GMT.
