Ben hogan Sure-out wedge

Ben Hogan Golf is giving a facelift to its tried and tested Sure-Out wedge, with a new groove width, to the limit of USGA and R&A regulations, to obtain maximum spin and control.

Complete with a wide sole and nickel plating, the new BH Sure-Out wedges, also channels away excess water and debris, say the manufacturers, making them ideal for UK conditions.

The wide sole design also helps the wedge skim over sand instead of digging in.

The clubs are available in 56 and 60 degree lofts, with the lightweight Apex steel shaft.

"Ben Hogan Golf has always been known for producing some of the world’s most effective and most-trusted wedges," said managing director, Neil Howie. "The new Sure-Out is the latest weapon in an arsenal of great Ben Hogan wedges. It performs for golfers of all abilities, but is most effective for the high handicapper. It will be to wedges what the hybrid club is to long irons – a new, extremely effective tool destined to become a classic of tomorrow."

Hippo lob wedge – give-away

Meanwhile, Hippo Golf is giving away a free 60-degree lob wedge (worth £39.95) to every golfer who enters the International Pairs this summer.

It’s part of a deal struck up with the organisers and the club-makers to generate new golfers to take part in the tournament, which reaches its climax at St Andrews Bay hotel later in the year.

To claim your prize, all you have to do is submit your £5 entry and send a cheque for £9.99 to cover postage and packaging for the club.
