In the Bag: Inbee Park

Srixon staff player Inbee Park is now two-for-two in LPGA Tour majors this season following playoff victory at the rain-delayed LPGA Championship.

The 24-year-old South Korean, who bogeyed three of her final five holes in regulation, bounced back superbly when ousting Scot Catriona Matthew with a 20-foot birdie putt on the third extra hole at Locust Hill.

“It feels good to win because I hit the ball everywhere and it made the day so much tougher,” said Park, who became one of six LPGA players to win the first two majors of a season.

“I struggled, and it’s almost a miracle that I won.”

The World No.1 also won the Kraft Nabisco in California in early April and has four victories this year. With the victory, Asian players have won nine straight majors.

Prior to this season, Park would already be halfway to the Grand Slam, winning all four majors in a calendar year. However, the LPGA added a fifth majors this year, the Evian, which will be played in France following the US Women's Open and British Women's Open.

Park currently plays the new Z-Star with SpinSkin technology. This victory marks the 27th professional win worldwide with this model of the Z-Star and the fourth in only two weeks. Park also plays a XXIO7 driver, XXIO Forged irons and Cleveland 588 wedges (47-, 51-, 56-degree).
