Golf's governing body, the USGA, goes back on its word about Justin Thomas.

The USGA has retracted its tweet last week that claimed Justin Thomas had "cancelled every meeting" about the new Rules of Golf.

 

Thomas ripped into golf's new rules ahead of last week's Honda Classic when telling the media they are "terrible."

After a series of tweets from the American, the USGA communications department responded with: "Justin, we need to talk. You've cancelled every meeting we've planned with  you, but we are reaching out again. We'd love nothing more than to give you a seat."

However, the USGA went back on that initial comment this week with the following:

 

 

We await to see what Thomas comes back with. 

Thomas is not competing in this week's Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, but will tee up in next week's Players Championship.
