Greg Norman has commented on the ongoing rumour that fellow Australian Adam Scott could be heading to LIV Golf in 2023.

Norman, speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald ahead of this week's LIV Golf Chicago, has made it no secret that Scott has been contacted to join the Saudi-backed circuit.

Only any potential transfer away from the PGA Tour for Scott will now be down to recent LIV signees and compatriots Cameron Smith and Marc Leishman.

"How can I answer that question?" Norman responded to Sydney Morning Herald when pressed on whether he was still intent on snapping up Scott.

"There were discussions early on with Adam and I think right now with Marc and Cam being the principals of Team Australia, I think quite honestly it’s over to them.

"They have to build out the most solid team which gives them the best value going forward. Obviously, they’ll come to us and ask us questions, and there’s so much good young talent coming out of Australia.

"I can name you four or five of the kids. There are some very good ones and one or two have a connection up into Asia, and that Asian value from a financial standpoint is solid."

Smith and Leishman are currently part of an all-Australian LIV Golf team called Punch GC.

Their team also comprises Matt Jones and Wade Ormsby.

Smith is the team captain.

According to a number of rumours going round on social media ahead of a new $405 million LIV Golf League starting up in 2023, it is understood that four players that attended the PGA Tour's players-only meeting led by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy last month are keen on moving to LIV Golf.

It is believed that one big name player currently in the World Top 10 will be making the move to LIV Golf ahead of 2023.

Jon Rahm had been heavily linked with a move to LIV Golf on social media the past 48 hours but the Spaniard played down such talk on Twitter on Wednesday night.

Scott, who won the 2013 Masters, was one of those players in the recent meeting that featured 23 PGA Tour players who were all on hand to discuss the best ways to improve the PGA Tour moving forwards in a bid to tackle LIV Golf in its tracks.

Right now, however, Scott remains on the PGA Tour and he has committed to Trevor Immelman's International Presidents Cup team to face Davis Love III's United States side in Charlotte next week.

The Internationals are looking to win just their second Presidents Cup in 14 renewals.

They last won it in 1998 and they shared the spoils in 2003, but every other match has been won by USA.

The Americans are heavy 1/5 favourites to retain the Presidents Cup next week.
