How much they made at Wells Fargo: Wyndham Clark $3.6m; Rory McIlroy $51k

Wyndham Clark collected his biggest pay cheque of his career ($3.6m) with maiden PGA Tour victory at the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow.

Clark, 29, ran out a commanding four-stroke win over compatriot Xander Schauffele on 19-under par. 

Prior to landing his giant $3.6m cheque for winning the eighth designated event of the PGA Tour season, Clark's biggest payday was $485,000.

Clark now rockets up to 31st from 80th in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR).

Schauffele remains in fifth place in world order but takes home a consolation $2.18m for his solo runner-up finish. 

England's Tyrrell Hatton felt like he was going to "snap hook" all of his tee shots over the weekend but he managed to hold it all together to finish tied third alongside Harris English.

Both of them collected $1.18m for their efforts.

Elsewhere, Rory McIlroy had a week to forget slumping to a tie for 47th.

That saw McIlroy walk away with just pocket change of $51,222.22.

McIlroy's sole highlight of the week was binning a monster eagle putt in the final round.
