Hollywood actor Jonah Hill appears to have the full approval of John Daly to play the charismatic golfer in a biopic.

News filtered through last week that Hill, 38, who has starred in films such as The Wolf of Wall Street, Moneyball and Superbad was set to play the two-time major champ.

Daly, who reportedly begged Greg Norman to be part of the LIV Golf Tour, has offered his thoughts via the PGA Tour Champions ahead of the Dominion Energy Charity Classic at The Country Club of Virginia.

John Daly reacts to Jonah Hill biopic news:

Said the 56-year-old, who has the nick name Wild Thing: "We're still working on it but hopefully soon we'll get something done.

"Jonah Hill, he wants it really bad. And the way me and him have fluctuated with weight in our lives and no disrespect to him because I love him. I love him as an actor, I'm sure I'll love him as a friend too if we get this done.

"He wants it bad and I’m sure he'd be great. I'm going to have to get him on the driving range and see how far he can take the club back and if he can do that, then he's all set."
