Nick Hardy and Davis Riley claimed their maiden PGA Tour victories at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

The duo reached 30-under par over four days of competition at TPC Louisiana which was good enough for a three-stroke victory.

Riley, 26, and Hardy, 27, posted a final round of 65. The pair turned in 2-under but then saw several putts start to drop down the stretch.

Their victory was all but assured when Riley sank a huge putt at No. 17 from 33 feet just off the green.

The defending champions, Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay finished four strokes further back of Riley and Hardy.

Cantlay and Schauffele started too slowly on Thursday and combined to shoot 66 on Sunday.

Nick Taylor and Adam Hadwin finished in solo second on 28-under. Beau Hossler and Wyndham Clark finished in T-3 on 27-under.

Taylor Moore and Matthew NeSmith finished on the same score as Schauffele and Cantlay. Sungjae Im and Keith Mitchell also finished in the top-10.

Riley has had several chances to claim his maiden victory. None more so than the 2022 Valspar Championship.

He memorably hit a catastrophic tee-shot which led to a snowball of events and a costly triple bogey when he started the final round as leader.

He told the media:

"This is so special and to share it with one of my best friends out here is a dream come true."

Hardy said before he teed off on Sunday he was more nervous than he had ever been.

"I don't know why I was really nervous," he said. "I think golfers are kind of control freaks and in alternate shot you don't have control. I know Davis has been solid this week so I just had to play my game."

Elsewhere, Matthew Fitzpatrick and his brother Alex struggled on the final day, posting a 2-over 74. They finished T-19, one place above European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald and Francesco Molinari.
