Solheim Cup 2026: Nelly Korda benched as Saturday afternoon fourballs teams revealed

The Saturday afternoon fourballs at the Solheim Cup are about to get under way, with Europe holding a 7-5 lead — and USA captain Angela Stanford has made the biggest selection call of the session by leaving World No.1 Nelly Korda on the bench.

Korda and Allisen Corpuz were beaten 3&2 by Maja Stark and Linn Grant in this morning’s foursomes, as Europe won the session 3-1 to move two points clear.

But Korda is not the only major name sitting out the fourth session. 

Alison Lee has also been left on the bench despite being the only player in the field with a perfect 3-0 record. 

Lee was outstanding alongside Lauren Coughlin this morning, with the pair handing Lottie Woad and Charley Hull a heavy 6&5 defeat.

Coughlin is back out this afternoon, but with Megan Khang rather than Lee.

And it is Stark and Grant who get the action under way at 12.05pm GMT, with the Swedish duo facing Khang and Coughlin.

Stark and Grant have been one of Europe’s standout pairings this week and will be looking to carry their foursomes form into the fourballs.

Then, at 12.20pm, Woad and Hull get an immediate opportunity to respond to their morning disappointment.

The decision to send the English pair straight back out is another interesting call from Europe captain Anna Nordqvist. 

Woad and Hull have taken just half a point from their three matches together this week, but they remain one of Europe’s strongest pairings on paper.

Woad is making her Solheim Cup debut, while Hull is competing in her eighth edition. They will face Yealimi Noh and Andrea Lee, with a first win together firmly the target.

At 12.35pm, rookie Nastasia Nadaud teams up with Leona Maguire against Rose Zhang and Auston Kim.

Nadaud has won both of her matches so far, while Maguire moved to an extraordinary 10-3-1 Solheim Cup record after she and Esther Henseleit beat Zhang and Jennifer Kupcho 1up this morning.

The final match gets under way at 12.50pm, with Carlota Ciganda and Celine Boutier taking on Kupcho and Lindy Duncan.

Solheim Cup 2026: Saturday Fourballs 

The USA desperately need points after Europe’s superb morning, but they have plenty of opportunity to fight back with four points available this afternoon.

A further 12 points are then available for the Sunday singles. 

Europe need 14.5 points to regain the Solheim Cup, while USA need 14 as they are defending champions. 

USA have not won an away Solheim Cup since Germany in 2015.
