Tiger Woods & Rory McIlroy set for HUGE MATCH vs Jordan Spieth & Justin…

We might not have seen a great deal of Tiger Woods in what has been one of the most controversial years in the sport's history courtesy of LIV Golf, but we could be seeing the 15-time major champion quite a bit over the coming weeks.

Despite Woods not hitting a ball in a Tiger costume during a TaylorMade video post earlier this week as he continues his recovery from that horror car crash of February 2021, reports are surfacing that the former World No.1 is ramping up his levels of practice ahead of a return to the PGA Tour

He has not played in a competitive tournament since missing the cut at the 150th Open Championship at St Andrews where he was reduced to tears in what could end up being his final appearance at the Home of Golf.

Woods is not yet down for his own annual Hero World Challenge event in the Bahamas in the first week of December, or the father-son PNC Championship with his beefed-up son Charlie Woods.

It is anticipated Woods will compete in both of these end-of-year tournaments.

But there could also be one more coming in December, too.

According to the popular 'The Fried Egg' account on Twitter, they claim multiple sources have informed them that plans are in the works for Woods and Rory McIlroy to take on Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas in the next Match

It is believed the fourball will take to Pelican Golf Club outside of Tampa Bay under the lights on December 10.

That perfectly falls in between both the Hero World Challenge and the PNC Championship.

McIlroy is unlikely going to take part in the Hero World Challenge as his name is not on the confirmed list, but Spieth and Thomas will both be competing at Albany that week.

There are three remaining spaces in the field, of which it is hoped tournament host Woods will take up one of them

Woods last month revealed he might be switching to a yellow golf ball ahead of his return to the sport, especially after seeing his good friend Fred Couples close out with a round of 12-under 60 to win his first PGA Tour Champions event in five years.
