We look at three of the best winter mitts on the market in 2014

Galvin Green Winter Mitts - £35

The Galvin Green Winter Mitt is top of the class in terms of protection from the wind. I took these out on the windiest of days and they performed exceptionally well.

If you wanted to go for purely warmth and not wind protection then these might not be for you but the likelihood is that when it’s cold it will also be windy – this is Old Blighty after all.

As with all Galvin Green equipment, these gloves exude class. Predominantly black, with a splash of red, ’Galvin’ is printed down the face of the glove in elegant fashion to make the gloves stand out.

The gloves slip on and off easily and they provide a draw string to ensure they don't fall off.

Interestingly, the gloves encompass a Velcro flap on the underside which allows you to attach them to your trolley so you don’t have to spend finding somewhere to put them every shot - an effective extra.

Verdict

A high quality glove, as you would expect from Galvin Green. An all-around glove which provides protection against the wind and rain as well as warmth.
