BMW PGA Golf Betting Tips: why Jon Rahm is the man to beat at Wentworth
BMW PGA Championship Golf Betting Tips: check out the latest picks from GolfMagic Editor and expert tipster Andy Roberts.
Jon Rahm unthinkably hasn't won a golf tournament all season, but I think that changes at this week's BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.
Despite being winless in 2025, the former World No.1 still ended up etching his name on a second consecutive LIV Individual Championship title last month. Much to the shock of five-time season winner Joaquin Niemann, who also rocks up in Surrey.
With the LIV Golf season now in the books, Rahm is turning his attention to the DP World Tour and getting his game ready for the Ryder Cup later this month.
European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald has ensured 11 of his 12 players are in the field this week, with the only absentee Sepp Straka who continues to deal with "personal issues" ahead of New York.
Rahm has never won the DP World Tour's flagship event of the season at famed Wentworth Golf Estate in England, but he does have an incredible record here in three previous appearances.
I'll come on to that in a moment.
Rory McIlroy is marginally the favourite off the back of his incredible Irish Open exploits on Sunday, on top of the fact he's staying in his own bed at his new family home, but I'm prepared to look past the Masters champion this week.

BMW PGA Championship Golf Betting Tips
Outright pick:
Jon Rahm
Best odds:
13/2
Recent form:
5 - 2 - 2
Course form:
2 - 2 - 4
As I've already outlined above, Rahm has unthinkably yet to win a single golf tournament this season.
But Rahm's consistency has been clear for all to see with 14 top-10 finishes across the board in 2025.
Two of those top-10s came at the PGA and US Open to prove his game is still more than capable on the world stage.
Rahm has never won the famous BMW PGA at Wentworth but I think there is every chance he gets the job done on Sunday.
I really feel like he's due.
The Spaniard is not only playing well as he touches down in England off the back of three top-five finishes in a row on LIV Golf, but he also brings with him some of the best course form of anyone in the field.
Rahm has only played in the BMW PGA three times (2019, 2022, 2023) but he's chalked up nothing worse than a fourth-place position.
He quite simply loves it here.
I also think Rahm will be more determined than anyone else to get a win on the board before the Ryder Cup.
Rahm is my confident outright win selection for the BMW PGA at best odds of 13/2.
Outright pick:
Tommy Fleetwood
Best odds:
12/1
Recent form:
3 - 4 -1
Course form:
57 - 6 - 12
Tommy Fleetwood will get a huge reception when he rocks up on home turf this week as the new FedEx Cup champion.
Fleetwood's victory at the season finale on the PGA Tour marked his first win on the circuit in 164 appearances.
The popular Englishman has a steady record at the BMW PGA but like Rahm he's never managed to taste success here.
I think there's every chance he flips the script come Sunday, especially now a huge weight has been removed from his shoulders.
Fleetwood arrives at Wentworth playing the greatest golf of his career with three consecutive top-four finishes highlighted by a first PGA Tour title at the Tour Championship.
He's a big fan of the West Course too, especially having finished sixth in 2023 and 12th in 2024.
Fleetwood is available at best odds of 12/1.
McIlroy is of course a huge danger to all, especially on home turf now, but I believe the BMW PGA will be fought out between Rahm and Fleetwood on Sunday afternoon.
Each-way pick:
Angel Ayora
Best odds:
125/1 (e/w 1/5 1-6)
Recent form:
13 - 8 - 5
Course form:
-
Angel Ayora is a name you are going to hear a lot about in years to come.
The talented 20-year-old Spanish rookie has yet to capture a first DP World Tour title but he's certainly on the way.
Ayora has never played at Wentworth before as this is his first season on the circuit, but I'm not too fussed about that.
He looks such a talent that after a few practice rounds early in the week, he should be more than ready to go come Thursday's first round.
Ayora has improved on the DP World Tour with each of his last three starts.
He finished 13th at the Betfred British Masters, eighth at the Omega European Masters and then registered a brilliant fifth at the Amgen Irish Open on Sunday.
Ayora pleasingly carded his best round of the week (67) in the final round at The K Club, so arrives at Wentworth with plenty of good vibes.
It would be a shock if Ayora took down Europe's elite this week to win his first title on the DP World Tour, but at the same time I wouldn't completely put it past him.
Ayora looks great each-way value at 125/1, especially at 1/5 odds 1-6 places with SkyBet.
