Open de Espana Golf Betting Tips: Can we make it three wins on the bounce?!
Open de Espana Golf Betting Tips: GolfMagic Editor and expert tipster Andy Roberts looks to make it three winning tips in a row.
After consecutive winning tips here at GolfMagic, I am looking to make it three on the bounce for you at this week's coveted Open de Espana on the DP World Tour.
I bypassed last week's tournaments as didn't fancy them at all, and I come swinging into this week's article after successful winning tips on Scottie Scheffler (5/2) at the Procore Championship followed by predicting Europe 15-13 (12/1) at the Ryder Cup.
This week's famous Open de Espana has once again assembled a stacked field, featuring a couple of European Ryder Cup heroes and LIV Golf stars.
And it's a man who can be described as both who will be my strong, confident outright win selection at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid.
I have also provided you with two more selections for some each-way cover.
As always, please gamble responsibly.
Let's dive into my picks...
Open de Espana 2025 Golf Betting Tips
Outright pick:
Jon Rahm
Best odds:
16/5
Last 3 starts:
2 - 2 - 13
Last 3 at Open de Espana:
1 - 9 - 2
Yes, this week's field is stacked with a number of European Ryder Cup heroes and LIV Golf superstars, but Rahm, who fills both those brackets, will take all the beating once again on home turf this week.
I followed Rahm up close and personal at the Ryder Cup in New York two weeks ago and thought he was swinging it better than ever on the first two days at Bethpage.
He did look a bit tired towards the end on Sunday, but he had done the damage where it mattered for Europe over the first two days taking three points as the visitors ran out a deserved 15-13 victory over USA.
Having taken last week off to recharge the batteries and no doubt nurse a sore head judging by the victory celebrations, Rahm arrives in his home nation ready to win a fourth Open de Espana title.
Incredibly, Rahm hasn't won all season, another reason why I am so strong on his chances this Sunday.
Although it should be said he did successfully defend the LIV Golf Individual Championship as a result of his consistency on the breakaway league.
Rahm simply loves this week's venue in Madrid having won two of his three Open de Espana titles here in 2019 and 2022.
He also won in 2018 but that was over at Centro Nacional de Golf in Madrid.
Rahm has also added finishes of ninth in 2023 and a playoff loss to compatriot Angel Hidalgo last season.
Last year's agonising runner-up finish will be yet another reason why Rahm will fancy some redemption.
Rahm is the class horse in the race, and fuelled by the buzz of winning an away Ryder Cup and being cheered on by his adoring home fans, I fully expect him to take full control of this tournament come the back nine on Sunday.
For sure, an extremely short price before a ball is struck, but I see no other result than a Rahm win.
Each-way pick:
Sergio Garcia
Best odds:
40/1
Last 3 starts:
MC - 17 - 17
Last 3 at Open de Espana:
22 - 3 - 7
It's great to see the all-time record Ryder Cup points scorer back on the DP World Tour and playing in front of his home fans again.
Sergio Garcia has not played in the Open de Espana since 2019 but he's back and ready to put on a show.
Garcia arrives here well rested having taken some time off since falling short of making the European Ryder Cup team.
Just before the Ryder Cup took place, Garcia shot a 12-under 58 during a round with his pals in Austin, Texas.
Garcia missed the cut in his last DP World Tour start at the BMW International Open, but has since added a pair of T17s on LIV Golf.
He already has an Open de Espana title to his name following victory at El Cortijo Club de Campo in 2002 and he will be eager to etch his name on the famous trophy again some 23 years later.
Garcia will carry a huge following with him this week and will want to put on a show for his fans.
The Spanish legend looks solid each-way value at 40/1.
Ángel Ayora is making his mark in his first DP World Tour season 💪

Yes, I'm going for three Spaniards this week.
My final pick is an up and coming superstar who could very well follow in the footsteps of his heroes Garcia and Rahm.
If you're aren't familiar with the name Angel Ayora, then you will want to start charting the 21-year-old's rise.
Ayora is yet to register a victory in his rookie season on the DP World Tour but he's come mightily close and it surely looks a matter of time.
He has chalked up an impressive six top-10 finishes so far this season, with his latest coming last week with a brilliant fifth in brutal conditions at the Dunhill Links.
Ayora has only played here once and it was a week to forget for him in 2023 with a missed cut, but he is a vastly different player two years on.
At 27th on the DP World Tour Rankings right now, a strong finish to end the season could very well see him pick up one of the 10 lucrative PGA Tour cards up for grabs.
That's if LIV Golf don't come and pinch him of course...
Ayora looks far too big at the prices and I think he represents fantastic each-way value at 40/1.
As always please gamble responsibly...
