Anthony Kim has confirmed he will be teeing it up at LIV Golf's version of qualifying school next January.

Anthony Kim declared he will definitely be at LIV Golf's version of qualifying school after he recorded his best finish in a professional event since his return to the sport.

Kim joined the PIF-backed breakaway last February, 12 years after he left the PGA Tour

He told reporters upon his return that he has spent many years battling addiction and had not even swung a golf club in that period.

The 40-year-old has struggled with LIV, finishing in the relegation zone in each of his two seasons.

But over the weekend, he recorded a top-five finish at the Saudi International, shooting rounds of 67, 64, 69 and 70 at Riyadh Golf Club to reach 14-under par alongside Jason Kokrak, Adrian Meronk, Lucas Herbert, Tyrrell Hatton and Branden Grace.

Kim told FlushingIt  he was "frustrated" at not finishing further up the leaderboard but claimed his hard work off the course is finally starting to pay off.

"You know, not that this is a big deal, but I found faith in God and unfortunately, I didn't get it done today," he said. "But, I feel like God has a bigger plan for me, not just in the golf, but to help other people."

He added: "Yeah, I mean, obviously I've dealt with my fair share of mental illness and addiction and, you know, I'm working for my family, I'm working for myself. But I'm also working for the people that are struggling."

Kim was previously exempt from relegation but LIV Golf changed the rules this year.

He needed to win the Saudi International to return to the breakaway tour but will have one final opportunity to grab a golden ticket next January at LIV Golf Promotions.

Kim confirmed he'll be in the field. Should he come up short, he'll turn his attention to the International Series in 2026.

"I think if I just keep working the way I'm working, [I'll] finally able to swing the way I want to on the golf course.

"So, once that happens, and I make a few putts, I'll be right back."

Sergio Garcia to get new teammate

Elsewhere, TenGolf are reporting that Sergio Garcia is set to get a new LIV Golf teammate in 2026.

Garcia welcomed Luis Masaveu to the Fireballs in January but swapped him for reigning US Amateur champion Josele Ballester halfway through the season.

The Spanish paper claim that Masaveu is being lined up for a return to the Fireballs, with Abraham Ancer joing Joaquin Niemann's Torque team.

Laurie Canter to re-join LIV Golf?

England's Laurie Canter was one of 10 players to earn playing privileges on the PGA Tour last week via the Race to Dubai.

But according to Sports Business Journal, the 36-year-old has agreed to snub promotion to the established North American circuit in favour of a return to LIV Golf.

Canter has played in 19 LIV Golf events in his career as a reserve.

After failing to earn a full-time spot on LIV, Canter turned his attentions to the DP World Tour where his career has flourished.

Two victories on the DP World Tour saw Canter climb into the top 50 of the world rankings for the very first time in March.

He earned promotion to the PGA Tour at the DP World Tour Championship and was thrilled about securing some starts in the United States.

Phil Mickelson even praised Canter for his achievement on X, saying the golfer works relentlessly on his game to improve.

Canter's most likely destination is the Majesticks team.
