Golf fans all say same thing after Anthony Kim addresses 'the haters'
Anthony Kim confused golf fans ahead of his LIV return in Jeddah with a message to the 'haters'.
In case you haven't heard Anthony Kim is back.
Golf's yeti has decided to come out of retirement at the age of 38 for the remainder of the 2024 LIV Golf League season.
Unfortunately we haven't heard Kim's story yet and the American is not scheduled to take part in any media interviews over the next few days.
Judging by a promo video that LIV dropped ahead of his return, the cult hero doesn't have a burning desire to let us know what the deal is.
"Right now I'm focused on playing good this week," Kim said in the short video clip posted from Jeddah.
"We've got a few weeks of competitive golf in front of me so I'll tell my story when it's the right time but right now I'm focusing on golf."
Kim's social media team also released their own video teasing the 2008 Ryder Cup star's return.
Clips of Kim practising over the last few years were played over 'Kane Brown & H.E.R's Blessed & Free'.
Can we deduce anything from the lyrics about how Kim is feeling?
"I've been on the highway for two days, tryna keep my head straight, running from my old ways the old days, it was dust and dreams."
Hmm.
Anyhow, one thing did appear to confuse a number of viewers and that was the caption at the end of the video read: "Hello haters, I'm back."
Sorrywhatpardon?
Well, whatever you think about Kim's comeback one thing the majority (?) of golf fans appear to agree on is that he was never hated.
Kim was such a popular player during his heyday and it was that popularity that has led to the intense speculation as to his whereabouts over the years.
His legend has grown because of his popularity, no?!
X users were inclined to agree.
"There is literally no one that hates Anthony Kim, but nice try."
Another added: "I never heard anyone 'hate' on AK. Literally now."
This person said: "Who's he referring to when he says haters? Nobody hated. He got injured and disappeared for a decade. LIV can be so cringey."
