LIV Golf pro files for divorce after nine years of marriage

LIV Golf's Pat Perez and his wife Ashley have filed for divorce, according to a report.

Per BroBible, a filing has been lodged at the Maricopa County Superior Court, bringing an end to their nine-year marriage.

The couple wed on New Years Eve in 2014 and have two children together. Pat was married before he met Ashley.

Ashley has routinely hit the headlines over the past two years after her husband signed for the Saudi-backed golf league.

Pat was heavily criticised when he joined LIV having previously been quoted as saying he wouldn't 'join the Saudi train'.

Leaping to his defence, Ashley posted a video whereby she went on a massive rant. "This new tour is going to be iconic," she blasted.

During the 2023 Ryder Cup she also went after Rory McIlroy after watching the Northern Irishman's argument with Team USA.

"I can't possibly be the only one that would absolutely love to watch Rory get punched in the face," she wrote.

"And I mean that in the nicest possible way... kinda."

Ashley also called out Tiger Woods for his past driving offences when fans called for the golfer to be allowed to use a golf cart in competition.

Although not confirmed to be Pat and Ashley, No Laying Up's Tron Carter recently reported he had heard a LIV player recently returned from a trip to Las Vegas only to find his house completely gutted.

Pat met Ashley in Las Vegas.

Carter said: "I'm not going to name the player [but] by all account this guy's wife left him. Packed up with the kids [and] when he came home from a Vegas trip the only thing left in the house was four forks.

"[It was] one of the LIV guys. And, you know, I feel so bad for him because these guys went to LIV because they wanted to spent more time with their families."

Pat didn't have a great 2023 season with LIV and finished 28th in the individual standings.

He was looking like he was going to be left out in the cold but Dustin Johnson granted him a lifeline by giving him a new contract to play with the 4Aces in the 2024 campaign.

LIV's new season kicks off next month in Mexico.
