Three players will earn exemptions into the LIV Golf League as wildcards at this year's "Promotions" event.

The 72-hole tournament will take place over 8-11 January and feature an 83-man field.

Among those taking part are former PGA Tour winners, Ryder Cup stars and golfers that were relegated from the PIF-backed breakaway in 2025.

There are also plenty of young golfers desperate for their chance to access the $25m tournaments.

GolfMagic has broken down everything you need to know about LIV Golf Promotions 2026 below.

When is LIV Golf Promotions?

8-11 January

Where is it being played?

LIV Golf Promotions is being played in the United States for the very first time.

In 2023, the tournament was staged in Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia last year.

Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida, will host this year's tournament.

The course is designed by renowned architect Tom Fazio.

Fazio previously said that the 16th, 17th and 18th holes were the best closing holes he has ever designed.

What is the format?

72 holes of stroke play

Round 1

63 players will compete over 18 holes and the top 20 and ties advance to Round 2

Round 2

The Round 1 survivors will be joined by 20 players exempt into Round 2.

Scores will be reset and players will play a further 18 holes, with the top 20 and ties again advancing to Round 3.

Round 3

Scores are reset once again and the players will play the first of 18 holes of a 36-hole shootout

Round 4

Scores will carry over from Round 3, with the top three earning wildcard status for the 2026 LIV Golf season.

A sudden-death play-off will be used if necessary.

Is there prize money?

The purse of LIV Golf Promotions is $1.5m, with $200,000 awarded to the champion. The runner-up receives $150,000, whilst third places takes $100,000.

Who is playing?

There is a total field of 83 players.

Among them are severable notables.

Former PGA Tour winner turned golf's yeti, Anthony Kim, will attempt to earn his spot back after being relegated last season.

Likewise Andy Ogletree, who was a member of Phil Mickelson's HyFlyers.

Brooks Koepka's brother, Chase, is in the field. The younger brother of the five-time major champion played in the first two seasons of LIV before he was relegated.

England's Chris Wood, who was a member of 2016 European Ryder Cup team, is also attempting to revive his career.

Wood previously told of how he struggled with anxiety and fear but is now in a clearer head space.

Ben Campbell and Matt Jones played the 2025 LIV Golf season and finished in the Open Zone.

Campbell was a member of Bubba Watson's team whilst Jones played in Cameron Smith's all-Australian quartet.

Their contracts were not renewed so they are looking to earn their spots back.

Is there anyone notable not playing?

Henrik Stenson, the former Open champion who was a co-captain of the Majesticks, has decided not to try and earn his spot back.

Stenson was relegated in 2025 and appears intent on resurrecting his career in Europe with the DP World Tour.

Who has been promoted via LIV Golf Promotions in the past?

Kalle Samooja, Jinichiro Kozuma and Kieran Vincent earned promotion at the inaugural Promotions event.

The number of exemptions was reduced to one last year, with Max Lee the recipient of the golden ticket.

Initially, LIV announced there were only going to be two tickets on offer at LIV Golf Promotions 2026.

But that has been upped to three.

Why are there only three exemptions?

It is understood the move was made to help LIV Golf's bid to be recognised by the sports global rankings body.

LIV have been locked out of the Official World Golf Ranking system since its inauguration.

How has the PGA Tour reacted to LIV Golf Promotions?

The PGA Tour deems LIV Golf events "unauthorised" and will ban any member that takes part.

Non-members are also subject to a suspension.

Tee times?

GolfMagic will publish the tee times here when they go live.
