Tyrrell Hatton withdraws from LIV Golf Korea after birth of first child
Hatton will miss this week’s LIV Golf event in South Korea, with Legion XIII reserve Max Rottluff drafted in for his league debut.
Tyrrell Hatton has withdrawn from this week’s LIV Golf Korea following the birth of his first child, GolfMagic has confirmed through Hatton’s management team.
Hatton, 34, and his wife Emily welcomed their first child last week, prompting the European Ryder Cup hero to miss this week’s LIV Golf event in South Korea.
Germany’s Max Rottluff will replace Hatton in the Legion XIII line-up for LIV Golf Korea, marking the 33-year-old’s debut on the LIV Golf League.
Hatton will return to action next week at LIV Golf Andalucia at famed Valderrama.
The Englishman has enjoyed another strong season, recording four top-10 finishes in 10 worldwide starts. His best result came at The Masters in April, where he finished tied third for his highest-ever finish in a major championship.
Hatton’s absence means Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII team this week will feature Rahm, Tom McKibbin, Caleb Surratt and Rottluff.

Rottluff has longstanding ties with Rahm dating back to their time at Arizona State University, where both represented the Sun Devils under coach Tim Mickelson. During the 2014-15 season, Rottluff posted a 69.81 scoring average, second only to Rahm’s 69.15.
The German enjoyed a decorated amateur career, earning first-team All-American honours and climbing into the top 20 of the World Amateur Golf Ranking before turning professional in 2016.
Rottluff claimed two victories on PGA Tour Canada and later competed on the Korn Ferry Tour before earning promotion to the DP World Tour through two Challenge Tour wins in 2023.
After losing his DP World Tour card in 2024, Rottluff has primarily competed on the Asian Tour and International Series events in 2025 while serving as an official LIV Golf reserve player.
LIV Golf Korea takes place this week at Asiad Country Club in Busan, South Korea’s second-largest city.
