'Really awkward exchange...' Nelly Korda on laughing with Lexi Thompson in Charley Hull group
Nelly Korda reveals why she was laughing with Lexi Thompson on the 18th hole during their first round alongside Charley Hull at the U.S. Women's Open.

Nelly Korda has revealed she was in hysterics with Lexi Thompson following an 'awkward exchange' that happened on the 18th green in the first round of the U.S. Women's Open.
Korda, who opened with a level-par 72 at Erin Hills, told reporters she was laughing with Thompson after an epic fail with her caddie Jason McDede.
Nelly's caddie went to give her a hug like he would normally do after a round.
Only Korda completely aired him by accident.
Thompson caught sight of Korda's caddie left hanging and so they enjoyed a good laugh about it.
When pressed for comment by a pool of reporters about what was so funny on 18, Korda revealed all.
"So Jason and I just had a really awkward exchange there where he tried to hug me but I didn't hug him back," said Korda.
"It was all just kind of awkward.
"Lexi saw it, and she was like, I really hope the cameras got that, which I really hope they didn't. It was just awkward."
McDede has been working with Korda since 2018.
Jason is married to fellow LPGA player Caroline Masson.
It seems Charley might be frustrated with Lexiβs pace of play. A couple of deep breathes and muttering something.

Oh, and this is the first hole. πππ pic.twitter.com/ATTtfljdpi
Korda and Thompson were joined by England's Charley Hull in the first round.
Hull matched Korda's round of level-par 72, while Thompson fared one shot worse with a 73.
There were moments of controversy during the first round as Hull appeared to show frustration at Thompson's pace of play.
Hull was seen huffing and puffing and muttering words under her breath while Thompson was standing over a putt on the 1st hole.
The Englishwoman was then seen sitting on the 9th tee box while Thompson was still putting out on the 8th.

And then on final hole, Hull was already seen walking ahead up the 18th by the time both Thompson and Korda had struck their drives.
Watch what happened here
Safe to say Charley Hull is a *bit* impatient as this first round wraps up.
