Amari Avery had to use Gabriela Ruffels' golf clubs in the second round of the U.S. Women's Open after someone tried to break into her rental home after the first round.
According to Golf Channel's Paige Mackenzie, an intruder tried to break into her rental house in the middle of Thursday night.
Avery, 20, had opened with a 1-under 71.
While the break in was being attempted, Avery and her boyfriend - Tour pro Gavin Aurilia - packed up their bags and went to stay in a hotel.
Avery put all of her belongings in a travel bag, which was identical to her boyfriend's travel bag.
As it turned out, Aurilia took Avery's bag by mistake when he left for Los Angeles to attend his own tournament on Friday morning.
Avery was therefore left without her own clubs for Friday's second round.
She was saved when her pal Ruffels let her take her own clubs - and even her hat - after she had completed her second round in the morning.
Avery is also incredibly in contention for a first major title at the U.S. Women's Open following a whirlwind two days.
The American is currently level par for her second round after 16 holes and 1-under par for the tournament.
That is seven shots off the pace and just inside the top 30 as it stands.
The cut is projected to be 1-over par.
Aurilia's mother is said to have now flown in to Erin Hills to hand Avery her own clubs ahead of Saturday's play.
Avery has yet to win on the LPGA.

Saigo fired a brilliant 66 consisting of seven birdies and a bogey.
World No.1 Nelly Korda is also in contention.
Korda carded a solid 67 to move into a tie for second on 5-under par alongside Hinako Shibuno, Sarah Schmelzel, Maja Stark, Yealimi Noh and A Lim Kim.
The second round was suspended due to darkness on Friday night and play will resume on Saturday morning.
Charley Hull made the cut on the number at 1-over par.
Lexi Thompson missed the cut on 3-over par.
