Lauren Coughlin and Andrew Novak will take a one-shot lead into the final round of the Grant Thornton Invitational at Tibruon GC in Naples, Florida.

Coughlin and Novak carded a steady 68 in Saturday's tougher alternate-shot format to move to 19-under par.

The American duo lead by one shot over Charley Hull and Michael Brennan.

Hull missed a four-footer for par on the 18th to fall out of the lead and back to 18-under par.

Lexi Thompson and Wyndham Clark are a further shot back on 17-under par.

Canadian duo Brooke Henderson and Corey Conners vaulted into contention with a 67 to move into a four-way tie for fourth on 16-under par.

They're joined on that number by Jennifer Kupcho and Chris Gotterup, Nelly Korda and Denny McCarthy, and Rose Zhang and Michael Kim.

The shot of the day came courtesy of Coughlin holing out for eagle on the par-5 17th, which put them into the lead.

Novak claimed his first PGA Tour title earlier in the season, also in a team event alongside Ben Griffin.

After taking the lead heading into the final round, Novak joked with reporters about the possibility of winning back-to-back team events to cap off his 2025 season.

"Some are calling it the modern grand slam... obviously thinking about my legacy a little bit tomorrow," said Novak with a wry smile.

The Grant Thornton Invitational is hosted on both the PGA Tour and LPGA but it does count as an official tournament.

Sunday's final round is modified fourball, which means both players tee off and then play the other person's ball from there until the hole is completed.

A total of 16 teams compete in the Grant Thornton Invitational, which is in its third annual season now.
