Multiple PGA Tour winner Justin Thomas has revealed he's been cleared for "all golf activity".

The 32-year-old American has not played since he was part of the United States team that was beaten 15-13 on home soil by Europe in the Ryder Cup last September.

Thomas revealed on 15 November that he had been feeling some "nagging hip pain for a handful of months" and the symptoms had worsened.

An MRI scan revealed that he had a disc problem in his lower back. He had a microdiscectomy performed and has been taking his rehab slowly.

He has already missed the Sony Open, American Express, Farmers Insurance Open and the WM Phoenix Open.

Thomas is not in the field for this week's signature event at Pebble Beach but there is every chance he could return in a few weeks' time at Riviera.

On Tuesday, Thomas wrote on his Instagram page that he has been given the all clear by his doctor and medical team for all golf-related activity.

"After some follow up imaging and meeting with my Dr and team, I'm officially cleared for all golf activity," he wrote.

"It feels great to be swinging freely again and getting some reps in on the course.

"I'm working hard to build up my strength and stamina to get back into golf shape before competing on the PGA Tour.  Can't wait to get out there with the guys! LFG

Thomas also uploaded a video featuring two full driver swings and a down the line shot of an iron.

Thomas is 16-time PGA Tour winner. He has also won two majors.

The first arrived at the 2017 PGA Championship.

A year later, Thomas become the top-ranked player in the Official World Golf Ranking for the very first time, staying at the summit for five weeks before being leapfrogged by Dustin Johnson.

Thomas experienced a drop in form after he won the 2022 PGA Championship at Southern Hills, but broke his winless drought last season at the RBC Heritage.

He is currently ranked 12th in the OWGR.
