PGA Tour makes major final-round change at Cadillac Championship amid weather fears
Cadillac Championship final round brought forward as PGA Tour issues schedule update at Trump National Doral.
The PGA Tour has issued an update ahead of the final round of the Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral, confirming schedule changes due to approaching severe weather in Miami.
In a statement released by the PGA Tour’s communications team, officials confirmed that Sunday’s final round will now be played in threesomes rather than the originally scheduled two-balls. Players will also tee off from split tees in a revised window between 7:30am and 9:40am in an effort to complete play before the worst of the weather arrives.
“Due to forecasted inclement weather Sunday, the final round of the Cadillac Championship will now feature threesomes off split tees from 7:30 - 9:40 a.m,” the statement read.
Heading into the final day, Cameron Young holds a commanding lead and is firmly in control of the tournament.
The world number four is chasing his second PGA Tour title of the season, having already secured a win at The Players Championship in March, and could claim the third title of his PGA Tour career.
However, the task is far from straightforward. World number one Scottie Scheffler remains in close pursuit and will be looking to apply pressure as the final round unfolds.

The Cadillac Championship represents the fifth Signature Event on the PGA Tour calendar this season, boasting a substantial $20 million prize fund, with $3.6 million awarded to the winner.
