PGA Tour Prize Money Leaderboard 2026: Two players tied at $12 million, McIlroy $4 million off pace

A tight race emerges at the top as Scottie Scheffler and Cameron Young share the earnings lead past the halfway stage.

The 2026 PGA Tour season is already shaping up into another high-stakes battle for prize money, with the sport’s biggest names once again stacking up millions early in the year.

The PGA Tour has over $400 million in combined prize money available for the 2026 season.

Despite a relatively modest win count so far, world number one Scottie Scheffler is right back at the top of the earnings board.

In fact, the four-time major champion is currently tied for first place in the season-long money standings alongside Cameron Young, with both players sitting on $12m ahead of the RBC Canadian Open, which neither player is competing in at TPC Toronto.

Scheffler’s position is particularly striking given he has only recorded one win (The American Express) this year, while Young has won twice, highlighted by victory at The Players Championship, the PGA Tour's flagship event of the season.

However, Scheffler's consistency has been unmatched, leading the PGA Tour in top-10 finishes with seven so far in 2026.

At the same time, England's Matt Fitzpatrick has quietly built the strongest win record on the PGA Tour with three victories (one in a team event alongside his brother Alex) already this season, placing him just behind the leaders in overall earnings at $11m

Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy sits fourth on the list ($8m) after another high-profile season that includes a landmark second career Masters win and continued strong results, even if his form has been less dominant in terms of consistency compared to his rivals.

Jacob Bridgeman has enjoyed a breakthrough season on the PGA Tour, winning for the first time at the Genesis Invitational, and the American lies fifth on the prize money payouts list for 2026.

The PGA Tour's FedEx Cup race ends at the end of August, so there is still plenty of time left for players to catch, especially with two more majors incoming at the U.S. Open next week, and The Open from 16-19 July.

There is also one more Signature Event to go at the Travelers Championship at the end of this month, and then of course the FedEx Cup Playoffs in August.

When it comes to overall career prize money on the PGA Tour, McIlroy and Scheffler and second and third respectively in the all-time list.

McIlroy has banked just shy of a mammoth $116m, with Scheffler just behind him with $111m

Tiger Woods still leads the all-time prize money race on the PGA Tour at $120,999,166.

Though it's highly likely either McIlroy and/or Scheffler will surpass Woods' longstanding record by the end of this season.
