The PGA Tour turns its attention to the unofficial fifth men's major of the year at TPC Sawgrass.
The 123-man field at The Players Championship features 47 of the top 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking.
Four-time major champion and runaway world number one, Scottie Scheffler, is the overwhelming favourite to win second Players title.
Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy stands in his way and is the defending champion this week.
McIlroy, 36, defeated JJ Spaun in an electric play-off 12 months ago to win his second Players title.
But the reigning Masters champion may not tee it up as he is still struggling with a back injury that prevented him from completing last week's Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill.
If McIlroy does play and enter the winner's circle again he would join Jack Nicklaus in the history books and become only the second golfer to win The Players three times.
McIlroy banked $4.5m 12 months ago for his win at the Stadium Course and the champion this week will walk away with the same cheque in 2026.
The overall purse for the 52nd Players is $25m.
