Justin Rose was among the big names to exit the RBC Canadian Open at the halfway stage.

The RBC Canadian Open will continue this weekend without some notable names.

After 36 holes at Osprey Valley's north course at TPC Toronto, PGA Tour rookie Ben James is out in front.

James, 22, is making his first start since turning professional this week and is on 10-under, one clear of Sam Burns, Jackson Suber, Haotong Li, Jesper Svensson and Keith Mitchell.

The defending champion, Ryan Fox, is also in contention alongside former LIV Golf recruit Brooks Koepka.

England's Tommy Fleetwood also cannot be discounted.

At the other end of the leaderboard, some big names are making an early exit.

The last few years have been a struggle for the former Masters champion, who always appears to be battling an injury.

Willett has only played eight times on the PGA Tour this season and missed the cut in half of those starts.

Matt Wallace -1

Wallace has only missed four cuts from 15 starts this season but has only been in contention once.

His T2 finish at the Valero Texas Open remains his best performance of 2026.
