PGA boss belted out Eminem after Rory McIlroy and wife verbal abuse at Ryder Cup
Ryder Cup chaos deepens as PGA of America President rapped 'Lose Yourself' by Eminem just hours after Rory McIlroy and his wife were verbally abused at Bethpage, claims report.
Despite all of the chaos unfolding on Saturday afternoon at the Ryder Cup, The Sunday Times reports that PGA of America President Don Rea raised eyebrows later that evening by jumping on the karaoke mic at the official players’ hotel.
While players, their families and guests settled in to watch some college football, Rea, who was appointed PGA of America last season, reportedly took centre stage with an eyebrow-raising rendition of Eminem’s Lose Yourself.
The timing couldn’t have been worse as just hours earlier McIlroy and his wife Erica were subjected to vile insults and abuse from a minority of unruly American fans at Bethpage.
The update further compounds the situation as a result of Rea's shocking remarks about McIlroy and the crowd atmosphere being similar to Rome, during a BBC interview.

McIlroy, 36, and his wife Erica, 38, were verbally insulted on just about every hole during the Ryder Cup, especially on Saturday.
GolfMagic knows first-hand as we covered the Northern Irishman's every move for three days from inside the ropes at Bethpage.
McIlroy received horrendous insults and homophobic slurs all over the course.

Rory and Lowry had just won on 18 and he was coming back to 17 to cheer on the groups behind — and celebrate with Euro fans.

At one stage even Justin Thomas had to tell his own fans to "shut the f*** up" as a result of the personal insults both McIlroy and his playing partner Shane Lowry were receiving during their Saturday afternoon fourballs match.
Lowry tried to go after one heckler, only for him to held back by his caddie Darren Reynolds.
Shane Lowry just had to be held back from going after someone in the crowd...

McIlroy's wife Erica was also subject to some shocking insults as she followed her husband around the course, and a drink was also chucked towards her head.
But despite all of the above unfolding at the 2025 Ryder Cup, a contest organised by the PGA of America, its President batted an eyelid to the abuse and admitted the atmopshere at Bethpage was similar to Rome in 2023.
Jesus wept.

What chance do you have when this is how the people in charge respond?

"I haven't heard some of that," replied Rea when asked by a BBC reporter for his thoughts about the verbal insults being aimed at McIlroy, Erica and the rest of Team Europe.
"I'm sure it's happened, you know it happens when we're over in Rome the other side, and Rory understands.
"I thought he handled the press conference yesterday amazingly, but yeah things like that are going to happen and I don't know what was said..."
Rea, who has been a member of the PGA since 2001, even likened the 50,000-strong daily crowd at Bethpage to a "youth soccer game".
Two days after USA were defeated 15-13 by Luke Donald's Europe at the Ryder Cup, Rea then further compounded the situation by writing on LinkedIn he was "not bothered" about the backlash he had received.
Rea then finally apologised to both McIlroys and Team Europe for his remarks via email.
Team Europe captain Donald later condemned the crowd’s behaviour as having "crossed the line", while McIlroy branded it "unacceptable and abusive".
Lowry added: "I was out there for two days with Erica McIlroy, and the amount of abuse she received was astonishing."
The latest report from The Sunday Times about Rea dropping bars to Eminem on the karaoke in the players hotel on Saturday night just goes to highlight how badly the PGA President really did lose himself at the Ryder Cup.
