Golf fans have taken to social media to slam USA Network's broadcast of the day one foursomes at the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage in New York.

While no doubt many American fans were frustrated to see their star pairings fall by the wayside in the day one foursomes, just as the case was two years ago in Rome, it was the coverage many were having to endure that compounded their overall experience.

A large number of golf fans took to social media to reveal their disappointment at missing multiple shots from the foursomes - after all, it's a format where there are just eight balls and four matches taking place at Bethpage Black.

Fans also expressed frustration at an overload of commercials during USA Network's day one coverage that ran from 7am through to 6pm on Friday.

The broadcaster also decided to run an interview with the PGA CEO at 8am, at a time when the matches were just getting fully underway.

"Absolute garbage there’s eight balls on the entire course we should see every single shot," wrote one disgruntled American.

"It's nice to have some golf in between my commercials," quipped one fan.

"Thankful for the unwatchable broadcast. . . now I can get some work done!" joked another.

One golf fan commented: "The audio delay on the opening tee shots were rough but missing Scottie’s shot on 2 is hard to wrap my mind around."

Another wrote: "Gotta sell commercials to pay the players.. it’s frustrating."

The story appears much different over in the United Kingdom, however, with excited European fans not only loving the start from Luke Donald's troops but also the delivery of Sky Sports Golf's coverage.

"Coverage is superb here in the UK," wrote one European fan.

"Hard to fault to Sky's coverage when it comes to golf, we're very fortunate over here," commented another.

As it stands, the Europeans are leading the way in the early stages of the 2025 Ryder Cup - but all could change by this afternoon's fourballs.

United States President Donald Trump is scheduled to make an appearance at Bethpage later today.

European captain Donald is looking to become the first captain to win consecutive Ryder Cup since Tony Jacklin in 1989.

Europe are also looking to become the first away team to win the Ryder Cup since last doing so at Medinah in 2012.
