Scottie Scheffler's Ryder Cup rival picks out 'most impressive' attribute

European Ryder Cup star Ludvig Aberg has picked out the most impressive thing about dominant World No.1 Scottie Scheffler.

Scottie Scheffler's dominance on the PGA Tour over the last few years almost feels routine.

The American World No.1 has racked up 14 titles, one Olympic gold medal and four major championships.

In a few weeks' time, he is expected to play a starring role for Keegan Bradley's US Ryder Cup team.

Yet for all of his achievements, the most impressive thing about Scheffler has nothing to do with his golf swing.

At least, that is the verdict of Sweden's Ludvig Aberg, who will lock horns with the 29-year-old later this month at Bethpage Black.

Scheffler will be looking to redeem himself if he comes face-to-face with Aberg again, given two years ago he was on the receiving end of a record defeat in the foursomes.

Aberg teamed up with Viktor Hovland and dismissed Scheffler and Brooks Koepka 9&7.

"Obviously his golf speaks for itself," Aberg told Golf Channel.

"We've all seen it. We've all watched him win multiple tournaments over and over again, and it seems like he's doing it with such ease now.

"I feel like he's really figured out how to put the extra gear in when he needs to."

He added: "All those things are obviously really impressive, but I think ... I mean, I haven't known him for that long, about two years maybe, not even, and his rise have been quite substantial in the last couple years, but he's always been the same as a person ever since.

"And I think that's more impressive, because he's got a lot of reasons to sort of ... not float away, but like, change in the way that he views things.

"From the outside looking in, it doesn't seem that way. It seems like he's very grounded. He cares about the things that he cares about and nothing else.

"And he really values those things, and I think that's more impressive than winning 14 events in two years or whatever it is."

Scheffler and Aberg have plenty of preparation ahead before they travel to New York with their team-mates.

Aberg and the majority of the European team will tee it up in next week's BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

Austria's Sepp Straka is the only absentee, owing to the fact his wife Katie recently gave birth. Their baby was born prematurely, but European captain Luke Donald confirmed 'everything is okay'.

Scheffler has committed to the Procore Championship.

GolfMagic exclusively revealed Xander Schauffele is the only US player not involved.

The two-time major champ is yet to explain why
