Bubba Watson revealed he has been “blocked” by Tiger Woods — but only because he constantly teases him — as he offered heartfelt support for his longtime rival ahead of The Masters.

Watson, 47, is set for his 18th appearance at Augusta National this week, returning as a two-time champion following victories in 2012 and 2014.

Speaking to reporters in his pre-tournament press conference, the LIV Golf star was asked for his thoughts on Woods, who will miss this year’s Masters after a turbulent few weeks.

Woods, 50, was arrested for DUI following a car crash near his home in Jupiter Island, Florida, two weeks ago. The 15-time major champion has since confirmed he will step away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on his health.

The five-time Masters winner had been targeting a return after missing the cut at The Open in July 2024, but his latest setback — along with a seventh back surgery in October 2025 and Achilles surgery earlier that year — has cast further doubt over his playing future.

Despite the uncertainty, Watson made clear his concern lies far beyond golf.

“I could care less about Tiger’s golf,” Watson said. “I’ve always been in his ear.”

In a light-hearted moment, the American added that his relationship with Woods remains strong — even if communication has become difficult.

“I don’t have his phone number anymore,” Watson joked. “He blocks me because I make fun of him all the time.”

Behind the humour, however, was a sincere message of support.

Watson reflected on Woods’ emotional victory at Augusta in 2019, revealing how much it meant to be present in the champions’ locker room afterwards.

“I told him from day one… that I’m pulling for him as a human being — forget his golf,” Watson said. “Anybody that’s struggling with anything, I feel for him because I’ve gone through a lot of mental stuff.”

Watson added that Woods had previously expressed gratitude for that support, particularly following his historic Masters comeback.

With Woods absent from Augusta this week and his future in the game uncertain, Watson’s message was simple.

“Nothing but love for him,” he said. “Hopefully he can come back stronger.”
