Masters Betting Odds 2026: Which players are hot, and who's not ahead of first round?
Masters Betting Odds update ahead of Round 1: Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy on the drift, as other stars including Jon Rahm attract big money.
The betting market for the 2026 Masters is beginning to take shape ahead of Thursday’s opening round at Augusta National, with early trends suggesting limited support for the world's best two players.
Despite sitting at the top of the market for just about 12 months Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy have both drifted in the betting for The Masters, while several of their closest rivals have attracted some big money in the days leading up to the tournament.
World number one Scheffler remains the bookmakers’ favourite, but his price has eased from as short as 4/1 earlier this season to best odds of 7/1. The two-time Masters champion has not competed in the past three weeks following the birth of his second child, and that absence appears to have tempered confidence among punters.
Defending champion and world number two McIlroy has also seen his odds lengthen slightly. After opening the week at 11/1, he is now available at best odds 14/1, despite last year’s playoff victory over Justin Rose to secure his first green jacket and complete the career Grand Slam.
In contrast, LIV Golf superstar Jon Rahm, who won the 2023 Masters, has attracted significant backing in the lead-up to the tournament. The Spaniard has shortened from around 12/1 at the start of the week to as low as 9/1 with several bookmakers, making him the clear second favourite behind Scheffler.
Rahm's LIV Golf peer Bryson DeChambeau has also seen steady support. The big-hitting American is currently priced at best odds 11/1, which is a tad shorter than his 12/1 price earlier in the week.
There has also been notable movement for Xander Schauffele. The two-time major champion opened this week's betting market at 16/1 but is now widely available at 12/1. Schauffele’s consistent record at Augusta National continues to make him an attractive option for bettors, despite yet to win the tournament.
Further down the market, Ludvig Aberg has seen his odds shorten from around 18/1 to 14/1. The Swede has impressed with recent performances and has already recorded two top-10 finishes in as many appearances at Augusta National. If he can brush two recent disappointing finishes at both The Players and Texas Open, many punters considers the European Ryder Cup hero could prove the man to beat on Sunday.
Justin Rose has also been backed, with his price moving from 33/1 to around 25/1. The Englishman has a strong Masters record, including three runner-up finishes.
Former champion Patrick Reed has similarly attracted interest, with his odds also tightening to approximately 25/1 in places.
The most notable drifter in the market is Collin Morikawa. The two-time major champion withdrew from The Players due to a back issue and has not competed since. Although Morikawa has indicated his condition has improved, concerns over his lack of recent play have seen his odds move markedly from around 20/1 to best odds of 40/1 with some bookmakers.
With the opening round approaching bright and early on Thursday, the betting market is continuing to evolve.
While Scheffler and McIlroy remain prominent in the market, current trends indicate stronger support for players such as Rahm and Schauffele, who were two of GolfMagic's three betting tips for The Masters.
How those movements translate once play begins at Augusta National remains to be seen.
