LIVE: US OPEN THIRD ROUND

Aberg, 24, carded a solid 69 in the second round of the 2024 US Open to move to 5-under par.

That sees the European Ryder Cup hero nose ahead of Patrick Cantlay (71), Bryson DeChambeau (69) and Thomas Detry (67).

Aberg, who finished solo second on his Masters and major debut in April, is making just his third major appearance this week.

The talented Swede will join big-hitting LIV Golf star DeChambeau in the final game on Saturday.

Aberg and DeChambeau will tee off at 3.35pm local time, which is 8.35pm for UK fans.

Cantlay and Detry will be out in the penultimate group of the third round at 3.24pm.
