Dustin Johnson insists he is not thinking about the uncertain future of LIV Golf as he prepares for the weekend at the PGA Championship.

Johnson, 41, carded a level-par 70 in the second round at Aronimink to comfortably make the cut at two-over-par, and it puts him six shots off the pace entering the final 36 holes in Pennsylvania.

While the two-time major champion remains firmly focused on adding a third major title to his resume, questions continue to surround the future of LIV Golf following confirmation the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF) is going to withdraw its financial backing past this season.

Asked what he would do if LIV Golf no longer existed next year, Johnson delivered a characteristically direct response.

“You have to ask me when it comes to that. I have no f—— idea right now,” the former world number one told reporters at Aronimink on Friday night.

“I’ve got two more rounds to play. That is the only thing I’m thinking about. I don’t look too far ahead. I’ve got a lot of good golf in there. Feel great. Body feels good.”

Despite speculation over the league’s future, Johnson recently committed his allegiance to LIV Golf by signing a multi-year contract extension.

But that agreement came weeks before the PIF dropped its bombshell.

Johnson claimed earlier in the week that he still believes LIV Golf is in a “pretty good spot” despite growing uncertainty surrounding the circuit.

For now, however, the former Masters and US Open champion is concentrating solely on his performance at Aronimink after receiving a special invite into the field.

Johnson has struggled to contend consistently in the majors, although there have been signs of improvement the past 12 months.

He finished in a tie for 33rd at The Masters last month and tied 23rd at The Open last July.

Johnson sits 27th in the LIV Golf standings this season, and an unthinkable 471st in the world.

The American landed his two careers majors at the 2016 U.S. Open and 2020 Masters.
