LIV Golf: Patrick Reed NOT LISTED in Mallorca Open field on DP World Tour

Reed, 32, was expected to tee it up at Son Muntaner Golf Club in Palma over 20-23 October.
Last week the American complained he was "getting hammered" in the Official World Golf Rankings after he dropped out of the top 50 for the first time since 2014.

Captain America made an impassioned plea for LIV to start earning ranking points in their events so their players can start qualifying for golf's four major championships.
LIV Golf had announced a "strategic alliance" with the MENA Tour before their invitational in Jeddah, which was won by an emotional Brooks Koepka.
That move sparked confidence for LIV that they would immediately be eligible to start earning points but the governing body said they would place the changes under review.

"The only thing I'll say about all of that is the longer that you have competitive golf and competition with such great players and top players, the longer they're playing events that aren't getting world ranking points, it just makes the world ranking system insignificant," Reed said.
His comments echoed the sentiments of Graeme McDowell, who also turned heads when he suggested they may as well drop the word "official" from the Official World Golf Ranking if they continue to "play games" and ignore LIV Golf.

Reed is currently ranked 80th in the Race to Dubai having played seven events on the DP World Tour this season. The top 50 players are eligible to compete in the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.
Rory McIlroy, who has been at the centre of the enduring LIV Golf story, currently leads the way.
It's not clear why Reed has decided not to play. He recently complained of "false reporting" when he competed at the Open de France.
Also not in the field is Sergio Garcia, who needed to play in Mallorca in order to retain eligibility for Ryder Cup selection.
The Spaniard has effectively confirmed his career with Team Europe is over.
Reed and Garcia will both be in the field for LIV's season-ending $50m event in Miami.
