Ben Hogan Golf introduces LIMITED EDITION Player's Combo Sets

On the heels of introducing a number of long iron alternatives, including the UiHi utility irons and VKTR+ hybrids which led to The Player’s Combo Set - one of the best-selling products in their recent history- the Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company has unveiled the Player’s Black Combo Set.

The Company will introduce a limited run of the Player’s Black Combo sets with two (2) long-iron options, offering the 22-degree PTx PRO Black #4 iron, or the VKTR+ 22-degree hybrid club. Given the UiHi utility iron is not available with the Company’s Diamond Black Metal (DBM) finish, that option will not be available as it is with the original Player’s Combo Set.

Unlike most ‘combo sets’ on the market which make design sacrifices from the start -- where the long irons do not have enough game-enhancement technology while the shorter, scoring irons have too much -- the Ben Hogan Player’s Combo Sets allow golfers to create a set that best suits them without having to play to the same line throughout their bag. The Player’s Combo Set combines ICON blade short irons and the Award-Winning PTx PRO mid-irons, with a choice of a hybrid, utility club or traditional #4 iron at the long end of their set.

“Quite candidly, we were blown away by demand for the Player’s Combo Set. We knew it was a great concept, but never expected it to become a cornerstone of our product line. Throughout the latter half of 2021, we just couldn’t keep up with demand,” said Scott White, President and CEO of Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company. “On top of that, we’ve had ongoing requests for the set to made available in black finishes. The Player’s Black Combo Set is the response to those golfer demands.”

“Black golf clubs have been popular for a number of years now and we don’t see that trend changing anytime soon. Our proprietary Diamond Black Metal finish has proven to be preferred by many discerning golfers. We offer it as an alternative on many of our irons and wedges because it is more durable than nickel chrome and doesn’t flake or crack like black paint which most other manufacturers use.” said White.

The new Player’s Black Combo set will begin with a 22-degee club ... either the PTx PRO Black #4 iron or the VKTR+ hybrid. In keeping with the Ben Hogan manifest, the set(s) will maintain consistent 4-degree loft gapping throughout the set;

The original Player’s Combo sets will be available in traditional nickel chrome in three standard offerings:
