Golf has had an image problem for some time – the sport itself, but also the golfer. People think we look like clowns, and sadly a lot of the time we do. But alas, times are a changin. We’ve waited long enough!
A number of smaller brands are entering the market making brilliant golf clothes and shoes, but also the big brands have seen the opportunity and are bringing out appealing products to appease the discerning younger player. So there is no longer an excuse in turning up at the course looking like a golfer.
Here we list our favourite golf shoes from some of golf’s biggest brands in 2018.Nike-AIR-JORDAN2_0.jpg?itok=UlkhxTI5" typeof="Image" width="635" />
Air Jordan III
Celebrating 30 years since the shoe’s launch, Air Jordan bring this iconic product to the golf course in their original colourways. TPU, leather, cushioning, golf studs plus the Jumpman logo = winner.
Adidas adicross Bounce shoes
With a bounce midsole, these sock-lined shoes are designed to be supremely comfortable. They have a spikeless outsole, light upper and heel clip for stability.
Ecco Cool Pro
Cool technology meets Spydr-grip. Combining the supreme waterproofness and breathability of Gore-Tex and Ecco’s homemade leather, the Cool Pro is a luxury golf shoe with Old School aesthetics.
FootJoy Contour Casual
FJ have traditionally struggled to make shoes for younger golfers, but the Contour Casual should appeal to a lot of younger players. Low-fi looks - similar to a New Balance trainer - with an appealing selection of colours. They are also waterproof, and made to be uber comfortable.
No doubt you’ve seen a colourful G/Fore glove or humorous hat on the fairways, and they also have some excellent shoes. These trainer style golf shoes are a lightweight, waterproof product that look superb.
Brand new from Puma and featuring moveable studs for excellent grip on all lies. Also featuring IGNITE foam – which is insanely comfortable. We’re mad about these shoes thanks to their awesome looks and top performance.
Hugely popular trainer, and sure to be hugely popular golf shoe. Rory McIlroy and Alex Noren have been wearing these on Tour, proving they offer ample support, grip and overall performance, combined with serious #swag.
Under Armour Sunbrella
Waterproof, light, comfortable - the Spieth 2 product hogs the limelight, but these have the best aesthetics in the Under Armour range.
