The 10 longest drivers on the PGA Tour and the drivers they use

Which big sticks launched the most rockets this year? Let's break down the numbers.

Some golf fans flock to PGA Tour events to see a complete display of golfing skill from tee to green. Others go to see the best players in the world hit absolute bombs.

The driver is, and always will be, the funnest club to watch the pros unleash on the course, as they hit clubhead and ball speeds that to the naked eye seem to defy the very laws of physics. As such, the drivers the pros use often go on to be the best-selling clubs on the market that year.

This, naturally, got us thinking: who hit it the longest this year, and what did they use to do so? As such, we've put together a list to see which of the best drivers are helping their pros unlock the most distance on tour, and who in turn is crushing it better than the rest.

As will become clear here, however, long driving doesn't necessarily equate to good driving, with just one person in the list of the PGA Tour's 10 longest hitters remaining in the top 10 for total driving, which combines both distance and accuracy in one metric. Even so, when you're bombing it like these guys, it probably doesn't matter all too much.

It's also worth giving an honourable mention to LIV players Joaquinn Niemann, Bryson DeChambeau and Dean Burmester, who would be 1st, 2nd and 3rd on this list in average driving distance respectively if they still played on tour.

10. Niklas Norgaard

Average driving distance: 315.3yds

Total driving rank: 103rd

Driver used: Titleist TSR3

As you can see above, Niklas Norgaard is armed with some of the smoothest speed on the PGA Tour, something he used to great effect in ranking 5th overall this year in strokes gained off the tee.

Unfortunately, while he was one of the longest drivers on tour this year, he was also one of the least accurate, hitting just 51.62% of fairways this year and finishing 175th in accuracy overall.

9. Trevor Cone

Average driving distance: 315.4

Total driving rank: 16th

Driver used: Titleist TSR2

2025 rookie Trevor Cone instantly established himself as one of the best drivers on tour this year, finishing 9th in average distance and in the top 10 in overall driving – an impressive start by any metric. Issues elsewhere on the course hampered his form, however, and while he only made 11 of 25 cuts this year, he certainly has the tools off the tee to bring it to the very best in the world.

8. Joseph Bramlett

Average driving distance: 316.4yds

Total driving rank: 48th

Driver used: Titleist GT3

Joseph Bramlett played 19 events this year, making 7 cuts and missing 12 while scoring a solitary top 5 finish at September's Puerto Rico Open. He was also one of the tour's 50 best players with the driver and put up solid stats pretty much everywhere but the green, where he ranked almost dead last on tour in strokes gained with the putter.

7. Chris Gotterup

Average driving distance: 316.7yds

Total driving rank: 54th

Driver used: Ping G440 LST

2025 was a landmark year for Chris Gotterup, the 26-year-old capping his 4th year on tour with a top 10 finish in the FedEx Cup standings and scoring the second Tour win of his career at the Scottish Open. He'd go on to place third in the Open Championship the week after, and his success this year has largely come down to his success with his PING G440 LST. He ranks 9th overall in strokes gained off the tee.

6. Michael Thorbjornsen

Average driving distance: 317.8yds

Total driving rank: 1st

Driver used: TaylorMade Qi10 LS

American Michael Thorbjornsen is, by at least one metric, the best driver of the golf ball in the world this year, ranking not just 6th in average distance with his trusted TaylorMade Qi10 LS driver but, thanks to his top 50 accuracy rank, 1st in total driving for the season. Not bad for a guy in his sophomore season. Sadly he was unable to parlay this into a maiden tour win, but his first runner-up placement and a string of top 10 finishes indicates it's not far off.

5. Kurt Kitayama

Average driving distance: 318.0yds

Total driving rank: 32nd

Driver used: Titleist GT3

Kurt Kitayama has found a new level with the driver in the last two seasons, spending both 2024 and 2025 among the top 20 in strokes gained off the tee. This year in particular he's gained nearly 10 yards on average with his Titleist GT3, jumping from 32nd in driving distance last year to 5th this year. We need that gym routine.

4. Jesper Svensson

Average driving distance: 318.6yds

Total driving rank: 40th

Driver used: Cobra DS-ADAPT LS

It was a consistent if unspectacular year for Jesper Svensson, the Swede making 11 of 18 possible cuts and managing just a single top 10 on tour. He was among the very best off the tee, however, ranking 10th in strokes gained and 40th in total driving with his Cobra DS-ADAPT LS while being one of the game's longest average hitters.

Nicolai Hojgaard

3. Nicolai Højgaard

Average driving distance: 318.8yds

Total driving rank: 77th

Driver used: Callaway Elyte TD Max Driver

The bronze medallist for distance this year is Nicolai Hojaard, who finished 3rd in average distance and came close to cracking a 320 yard average drive. Sadly his accuracy, long a weakness of his, suffered as a result, and he finished the year ranked a lowly 178th in percentage of fairways hit. Whether or not his recent switch to a Callaway Elyte TD Max makes any difference remains to be seen.

Rory McIlroy

2. Rory McIlroy

Average driving distance: 323.0yds

Total driving rank: 84th

Driver used: TaylorMade Qi10

Rory's relative struggles with the driver this year were much documented, as was his on-off relationship with the TaylorMade Qi35 driver that he eventually traded back for his old Qi10. Exactly how he managed to win as much as he did, including that famous Masters victory, while ranking as one of the Tour's least accurate drivers will remain a mystery. Even so, he remains one of the professional game's biggest hitters entering his 37th year – proving he's one of golf's great all-time physical specimens.

1. Aldrich Potgieter

Average driving distance: 325.0yds

Total driving rank: 44th

Driver used: Titleist GT2

Not since the days of Tiger has someone come on to tour and established themselves as its biggest hitter in the space of a few seasons, but that's what 21-year-old Aldrich Potgieter did this year. Averaging a booming 325 yards off the tee with his Titleist GT2 driver, the big-swing South African harnessed this distance to score his maiden Tour Victory at the Rocket Classic.
