Scottie Scheffler is on course to pick up the fifth victory in his last 10 starts on the PGA tour as he shares the lead after 36 holes at the Charles Schwab Challenge.

Scheffler missed the cut in this event last season and he only managed 55th in 2020. The 25-year-old is certainly a different player now and his 65 on Friday took him to 9-under-par.

Joining Scheffler at the top of the leaderboard are Scott Stallings and Beau Hossler who shot respective scores of 64 and 65 in the second round at Colonial Country Club.

Patrick Reed, who has changed his driver this week from PXG to Grindworks, has recorded 64s in Texas so far and he is just one shot behind on 8-under-par.

Reed has only recorded one top-10 on the PGA Tour this season and he is looking for his first win since the Farmer Insurance Open in 2021.

Some notable names missed the cut in Fort Worth, none more so than two-time US PGA champion Justin Thomas who made a triple-bogey on the par-4 9th hole in the second round.

He shot rounds of 71 and 72 to miss out on the weekend and ironically, so did Will Zalatoris who lost to Thomas in the playoff at Southern Hills.

We have picked out three selections for the remainder of the Charles Schwab Challenge. Our two-ball treble below pays 14.58/1 on BET365.

Harold Varner III to beat Jordan Spieth in R3 - 6/4 (BET365)

Harold Varner III has made three top-10s this season and eight top-25s. He won the Saudi International in February and once again this week, he is in a good position at Colonial Country Club. He is 6-under-par for the week and one shot ahead of Jordan Spieth. HV3 has shown he has the game to win his first PGA Tour title and he could take another step further by outscoring his playing partner.

Martin Trainer to beat Luke Donald in R3 - 11/8 (BET365)

Martin Trainer may have missed 14 cuts on the PGA Tour this season, but he is ranked 13th in strokes gained in putting. Trainer has shot rounds of 68 and 70 so far in Fort Worth and he is a nice price to outscore Luke Donald on Saturday, who has also missed eight cuts and only made two top-25s in 15 events.

Sahith Theegala to beat Tommy Fleetwood in R3 - 13/8 (BET365)

Sahith Theegala has made three top-10s in 2022 and he almost had his breakthrough moment at the WM Phoenix Open in February. He also finished tied seventh at the Valspar Championship, so he has the form to outscore Tommy Fleetwood. He has made the fourth most birdies on the PGA Tour in 2022 and he could go low in Texas.
