ECCO has this year introduced New World Class footwear, a traditionally-styled luxury shoe handmade in Portugal by a team of artisans working with the finest materials.
A category-defining model, New World Class features a three-material outsole combining water-repellant leather with cushioning PU and wear-resistant TPU.
Its classic brogue upper is crafted from leathers of the highest grade that are tanned using an exclusive Hydromax treatment. This ensures long-lasting suppleness while helping protect a player’s feet against even the harshest weather.
“For nearly a decade, our World Class design has been the footwear of choice for discerning players seeking a cleated, leather-soled shoe,” says Michael Waack, Head of Global Golf at ECCO.
“Through our relentless pursuit of shoemaking innovation, we’ve been able to enhance a great product by making it lighter and more flexible.”
Available as part of the Spring/Summer 2014 ECCO men’s golf collection, New World Class also boasts a full-leather, moisture-wicking Second Skin lining and breathable, vegetable-tanned cow leather insole.
As a key point of distinction, ECCO owns its factories and controls the entire shoemaking process – from raw materials to finished footwear. This dovetails with the company’s position as one of the world’s largest producers of luxury leathers.
ECCO golf shoes are worn in competition by Tour stars worldwide, including Fred Couples, Graeme McDowell, Thomas Bjørn, Thongchai Jaidee, Marcel Siem, Wu Ashun, Andreas Hartø and JB Hansen.
