TY TRYON

William Tryon - nicknamed Ty from Chevy Chase's character in Caddyshack - was so "bigged up" by the masses, he even featured on Tiger Woods' PGA Tour video game at the age of 16.

But that was unfortunately about as close as he ever got to Tiger and co.

A fresh-faced Tryon, coached by David Leadbetter at the time, made the cut at the Honda Classic in 2001 and, at the time, became just the third youngest player ever to do so.

He then made the fateful decision to turn professional, of which very few highlights ensued. Many of which resulted in missed cuts. His best finish was just a top-10 at Bay Hill in 2003, earning him $93,375.

Despite losing his PGA Tour card, he continued to attempt to make a career on the second-tier tours, eventually winning his only ever tournament on the Hooters Tour in 2005.

But the one-time phenom has not even played a mini-Tour event for the best part of five years, and now at the age of 32, the spikes have already been hung up.
