Viktor Hovland says "nothing is ruled out" when he was recently pressed about a possible switch to the LIV Golf League

Hovland, 25, turned down a move to the breakaway tour last summer. That's not exactly news, considering we know everyone inside the top 100 in the OWGR was approached by Greg Norman and the Saudis.

Even Tiger Woods was reportedly the target of an audacious billion-dollar bid. Norman later walked back that claim.

As for Hovland, the three-time PGA Tour winner attended the famous players' meeting orchestrated by Woods and Rory McIlroy that saw the tour re-shaped with elevated events

Speaking in December, Hovland didn't appear too happy with the LIV-induced changes. Particularly with the impact on his schedule.

Are LIV about to raid PGA Tour again? Viktor Hovland:

Hovland played at the WM Phoenix Open. It was one of the tournaments he had to play in order to collect bonus money from the Player Impact Program.

"I think in a singular year you can make that work easy," Hovland said three months ago. "But I hope the future of my career is not going to be scheduled in that way where I'm basically forced to play 23, 24 events or 25 events a year."

Fast-forward to February and Hovland admitted he has "no idea" what the future holds.

Given that this is also a Ryder Cup year, Hovland will have to think long and hard about a potential switch.

Hovland told Aftenpoften

"I don't think it is controversial to say that many of the changes on the PGA Tour are because of LIV."

And what about a defection to join the likes of Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau?

"Nothing is ruled out. I just try to do the best for me and my venture, but you never know what the future holds.
"But they [LIV] have a long way to go, to put it that way.
"As of today, I want to play here, this is where the best players are.
"I think it's better for my golf if I play on the PGA Tour."

LIV kick off their second campaign in a few days' time in Mexico.

There are 14 events with prize money totalling a whopping $405m. LIV are yet to announce any new signees ahead of their second year.

Although it is expected that Sebastian Munoz and Mito Pereira will join Joaquin Niemann in Torque GC.
