LIV Golf pro: "Guys are grinding harder here than they do on PGA Tour"

LIV Golf's Matt Jones believes his fellow peers are "grinding harder" on the Saudi-backed circuit than they ever did on the PGA Tour, following an interview with AAP.

Jones is one of the three remaining players alongside Bryson DeChambeau and Peter Uihlein still attached to the ongoing antitrust lawsuit against the PGA Tour.

LIV Golf has attracted a number of star names from the PGA Tour this season, none bigger than Dustin Johnson, Cameron Smith, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia and Patrick Reed.

It is understood that four big names from the world's top 50 will be on their way ahead of a new LIV Golf League in 2023.

A number of critics including Sky Sports Golf's Ewen Murray have voiced concern over the LIV Golf Tour as a result of players already having money in the bank.

"It will produce mediocrity," tweeted Murray at the end of August.

Only Jones considers the complete opposite.

"I've seen guys grinding harder here than they do on the PGA Tour because we have the time," Jones told AAP Sport after picking up $126,000 for finishing 45th at LIV Golf Jeddah on Sunday.

"You can spend more time in the gym, getting fit, because our bodies aren't getting pounded week after week.

"And, financially, there's so much to gain from playing well out here. There are livelihoods at stake. There are guys on one-year contracts playing for next year.

"No-one's coming out for a hit and giggle. It's serious and guys want to win every week."

Jones also had a message for the LIV Golf "keyboard warriors" out there.

"I would say don't speak until you've come out here and experienced it," said Jones.

"There's plenty of keyboard warriors out there who sit behind a computer and judge everything people do for a living without getting out and experiencing it.

"If there's people judging this from what they see on YouTube and LIV TV, it would be better to come out here and experience it."

Brooks Koepka won his first LIV Golf tournament of the season when defeating his Smash GC colleague Peter Uihlein with a birdie at the third playoff hole

Smash GC also ran away with the team event, meaning Koepka walked away with a whopping $4.75 million in Saudi Arabia.
