Martin Kaymer has taken aim at the 'hypocrites' that 'gave me s***' and suggested they should go and play in Japan if they don't want to accept money from Saudi Arabia.

Kaymer, 38, was one of the first players to join the breakaway tour last June alongside a host of ageing Ryder Cup Europe stalwarts.

The German, a former World No. 1 and multiple major champion, has struck a consistent tone ever since he joined up with the likes of Greg Norman et al.

He's happy to support all the circuits, though some of his critics would argue that represented him having his cake and eating it.

Because of the potential for animosity, Kaymer withdrew from the BMW PGA Championship on the DP World Tour last September.

"I don't need to go to a place, where, feel-wise, you're not that welcome," he previously said.

Now he's coming out swinging in comments to The Telegraph's Jamie Corrigan

He doesn't believe he is playing well enough to warrant a Ryder Cup pick but others, such as Sergio Garcia, are deserving.

Kaymer said:

"Everyone has now come together, right, so let's show the world that and permit the best players in America to play against the best in Europe. I think it would be one of the great Ryder Cups if they made that happen. And why can't they? They've shown with this deal that anything can be done and be done quickly, too."

Martin Kaymer goes nuclear on LIV Golf hypocrites:

The golf world is still digesting the remarkable decision for the PGA Tour to agree with the Saudi backers of LIV Golf.

PGA Tour boss Jay Monahan has reportedly now revealed the established North American circuit simply couldn't afford the legal battle

Throw in the fact the tour also had to dip into their reserves to elevate their prize purses, it was just a battle they could not win.

Kaymer said:

"I'm really looking forward now to the reaction of all the people who said 'we don’t want to play for blood money… 'we don't want to sell our soul'".
"Well now they need to move to Japan [and play on the Japan Tour], in order to stay true to their word."

As for the sportswashing accusations, Kaymer added:

"I think you just need to follow your intuition and what you believe.
"I stood up to my values and stood up to the feeling in my heart.  I was brave enough and stood up for myself to a lot of people, also here in Germany who criticised me and gave me 's---. Funny enough, they have sent me nice messages [since the announcement].
"It's such a hypocritical world that we live in… so, it's even more important to make your own decisions. Don't judge too much because when all is said and done, you might do the same thing."
"The players are fine with each other, so I have no worries on that score. I guess the officials need to answer a few questions. I do feel a little sorry for the PGA Tour players who trusted everything that was said. But at the end of the day, you know, they will all have a warm meal on their plate."
