In news that will be welcome relief for the PGA Tour and European-based DP World Tour, LIV Golf are not expected to make any new signings in the 2023 season.

According to a report by The Telegraph's Jamie Corrigan, the breakaway tour has reportedly settled with their roster.

Those players include the likes of Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau and Cameron Smith

A number of Latin American players bolted from the PGA Tour in the off-season, joining ageing and perhaps soon-to-be European Tour stars like Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood, Sergio Garcia and Graeme McDowell.

We are expecting a result of the DP World Tour v. LIV Golf hearing any day now.

The highest-profile signing for Greg Norman et al was Belgian Thomas Pieters, who reportedly penned a $10m deal.

Pieters said his decision to join the circuit came courtesy of a last-minute offer after another LIV Golf player, American Hudson Swafford, confirmed he is likely to miss the entire $405m campaign with a hip injury.

The World No. 34 also insisted his decision had nothing to do with being overlooked for a spot in the PGA Tour's Genesis Invitational, hosted by Tiger Woods

He stated that he had wanted to join LIV since last summer. But given that he was part of the Hero Cup in January, his decision to join came as somewhat a surprise.

Speaking of that man Woods, according to the report, LIV are still not giving up on the idea of signing the 15-time major champion.

The idea that LIV would return with another offer for Woods and Rory McIlroy is not beyond comprehension.

But one would suggest you might see pigs flying before they sign on the dotted line.

A spokesperson for LIV told the publication:

"The field is the field for this year. And the 12 teams are the 12 teams."

The first LIV Golf League event was played last weekend at Mayakoba.

Former PGA Tour pro journeyman Charles Howell III claimed his first win since 2018 with a commanding victory.

Howell III won three times on the North American circuit in more than 600 starts.

For those victories, he picked up $2.7m in prize money. He won more than $40m in his PGA Tour career but earned a whopping $4m in Mexico.

His net worth also received another boost as he was part of DeChambeau's Crushers GC, which won the concurrent team event.

The news that LIV are not looking to bolster their ranks any time soon comes as it the 'rebel' tour announced plans for a qualifying school.
