The Masters: Jordan Spieth comes close to landing $1,000 Masters bet!
Jordan Spieth narrowly fails in his Masters bet with Gary Woodland at the par-3 12th hole...
It's a hole that probably still gives Jordan Spieth sleepless nights. The iconic par-3 12th at Augusta National, the scene of where Spieth threw away his chances of successfully defending The Masters in 2016.
What happened during Tuesday's practice round alongside Gary Woodland and Henrik Stenson probably won't exactly help him rest any easier this week.
On walking off the 11th green and up onto the 12th tee box, Woodland posed the question to Spieth: "How much if you make it? $500 or $1,000?"
Spieth, the 2015 Masters champion, answered with the latter and so he pegged it up and fired away.
"Is that in?!" said Woodland, as the ball was sent into the air. "It's gonna be close," replied Spieth.

Unfortunately for Spieth, his ball struck the flagstick and ricocheted back into the front greenside bunker.
"How mad would you be if that happened Thursday," Brennan Little, Woodland’s caddie, asked Speith.
"I wouldn’t be mad at the shot," said Spieth. "But I’d definitely be upset with the result."
Spieth, a three-time major winner, has endured a torrid run of form in recent years, falling from World No.1 to a current 80th position in the standings heading into this week's final major of 2020.
The 27-year-old arrives at Augusta off the back of four missed cuts in his last six starts on the PGA Tour, with his last top-10 finish coming back in June and that was only a tie for 10th at the Charles Schwab Challenge.
